Planet Radio is a premiere live performance group at the forefront of the Boston music scene. The band is made up of alumni and professors from renowned schools, such as The New England Conservatory of Music and Berklee College of Music. Their funky and soulful sound features rich and hard-hitting production elements that truly elevate the energy of their original music. During live performances, audiences experience exemplary instrumentals and captivating vocals. Their diverse musical perspectives create a wholly unique sound and an undeniable onstage chemistry.

Individual band members’ side projects span jazz, hip-hop, and world music, and members of Planet Radio have shared the stage with some legendary musicians, such as Lake Street Dive, Dave Brubeck, Ledisi, Lionel Loueke, and 50 Cent. Planet Radio has many years of performance experience and is available for weddings, corporate events, community events, private parties, and more.

HARP

Chamber performer and soloist, Lizary Rodríguez Ríos attended the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and studied with noted Puerto Rican harpist, Maria Vidal. She earned both masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Arizona, where she studied with world renowned harpist, Dr. Carrol McLaughlin. She also subsequently finished two postgraduate degrees from Madrid’s Royal Conservatory of Music, studying under the tutelage of celebrated harpist, Dr. Maria Rosa Calvo-Manzano.

Dr. Rodríguez Ríos has performed internationally at numerous venues and festivals, including the prestigious Casals Festival in Puerto Rico. In addition to her career as a soloist, she has toured with the Grammy-nominated international harp ensemble, Harp Fusion, performing in the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Spain, and Russia. She has recorded three albums with the group, featuring her as harpist and arranger. Among many exceptional honors, Rodríguez Ríos was the first harpist to receive the Centennial Achievement Award in the history of the University of Arizona.

Dr. Rodríguez Ríos has won prizes in competitions, such as the President’s Concerto Competition at the University of Arizona, the International Tournament of Musicians (TIM) in France, the Cita di Padova International Music Performance Competition in Italy, and the Notes at 9,000’s Emerging Artist Series Competition in Colorado.

Influenced by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder and Joss Stone, singer-songwriter Katrina Marie aims to bring back the sounds and styles of decades past with her soulful interpretations of both classic and current tunes. Performing both cover songs and originals, Katrina brings the same energy to her own music, which has been featured on a number of radio stations, including 92.5 The River and 88.9 WERS.

Nods to her talent and the great skill of her band have also landed in print. The band has been featured in Metronome Magazine, Boston Voyager Magazine, Bill Copeland Music News, and the UK’s The Singing Whovian. Nominated for the New England Music Awards Best Soul and R&B Act in both 2018 and 2019, Katrina continues to receive accolades. Her latest album release, “When There Is No Color” was not only nominated, but also won for Best Soul and R&B Album of 2017 at the Independent Music Awards.

Pianist and vocalist Jane Potter is a renowned musician and entertainer, performing and recording both with her jazz groups and as a soloist. She is a professor at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she recently received the Distinguished Faculty Award for the Performance Division. She has performed live on National Public Radio, at the Democratic Convention, and on WGBH and WICN radio stations.

Jane’s jazz gigs in Greater Boston include an eight-year run at the Oak Bar in the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, where she was preceded by such greats as Dave Mckenna and Teddy Wilson. In addition to performing at the Top of the Hub, Ryles, The Beehive, and Scullers, Jane has accompanied such singers as Joey McIntyre (of The New Kids On the Block), Roland Wyatt (the vocal coach for the Manhattan Transfer), and the Broadway performer Kamal Scott.

Jane is also a faculty member at Boston University’s Evergreen Program, which promotes lifelong learning for elders in the community. Her classes include “Titans of Jazz,” “Women in Music,” and “The Great American Song Book.”

The Dan Walker Band is a New Hampshire-based acoustic rock band that specializes in music for weddings, functions, and special events. Collectively, these musicians have over twenty years of professional experience. Dan has opened shows for Livingston Taylor (brother of James Taylor), Martin Sexton, Merle Haggard, Roseanne Cash, and many more. His music has also been featured in many TV shows and in multiple films on networks such as CBS, NBC, ABC, A&E, and The Discovery Channel.

Dan and his band are all incredibly versatile. They’re just as comfortable performing acoustic rock as they are performing pop or jazz. This makes them the perfect option for any outdoor cocktail party, garden party, or anniversary celebration. For wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours, they also offer elegant classical guitar or other smaller ensembles. Whatever the event, The Dan Walker Band will definitely make it one to remember!
